About Me

I am Sampriti Roy, a digital marketing freelancer from India. I help small business owners from India grow their businesses online. I also train individuals who wish to start their freelancing career or want to learn digital marketing.

As a digital marketer, I got the opportunity to explore multiple roles such as Social Media Manager, Content Creator, Content Writer, SEO, Website Designer, Growth Hacker, Store Manager.

I started exploring Digital Marketing and its fields in the year 2017 when I was in the 3rd year of my engineering. I used to promote my college fests and departmental fests on social media platforms when I was not even aware of these terms.

Actually, I was never sure about my career goals. I took engineering to see my parents happy. I sucked at it. I was someone who loved to code, but in college, I got distracted by the subjects and I was not able to practice coding.

I was just going ahead with the flow, and thankfully I got placed in a company in Ahmedabad during my college placements. It was then I first came across the term Digital Marketing.

In June 2018, when I shifted to Ahmedabad, I was exploring the city and also this field. I was quite surprised by the fact that there were training institutions for digital marketing.

But before enrolling in any program, I did my part of the research so I knew what are the topics under this field. I discussed this with my parents and all they said was I can do whatever I wished and that they would support me.❤

Was Professional Training Worth It?

During my research, I came across terms that together form the supporting pillars of the term Digital Marketing -Blogging, Content Writing, Copywriting, Email Marketing, Paid Ads, Social Media Marketing, Online Reputation Management, and whatnot.

It was overwhelming for me initially. And obviously, I needed some professional help for the same. So I decided to enroll in the program. They were also training us for graphic designing and website development.

The charges were a little bit high as compared to online courses so I requested the admission director if I could pay the fees in installments (I wanted to pay for my classes instead of bothering my parents). Thankfully they agreed to it.

Now I was attending my classes in the early morning after completing my night shift of 9 hours. So the question arises, was it worth it?

Honestly -No!

I’ll write a detailed article on this and paste the link here. :)

If you are someone who wants to explore the digital marketing field (or any new field that has a practical concept), here’s what I’ll suggest you do:

i) Check out what the buzz is all about in detail—especially what future scope it has (at least for the next 40–45 years, depending on how long you’ll be earning bread)

ii) Based on your financial status which is more convenient — online or offline classes?

iii) Check the reviews of the institution on genuine sites like trustpilot or glassdoor

iv) Try doing internships if you are not able to afford the classes. This will not only save you money but also give you a clear idea of what you can do.

Though I’m still practicing advance digital marketing, you can always contact me for any guidance related to Digital Marketing.

This is not the end!

All the above info might sound as if I’m just a digital marketer, but that’s not true 😅

I don’t talk much about my other stuffs yet as I’m still exploring various other field just to explore myself and to keep my mind occupied with productive stuff.

I took a sweet advantage of covid lockdown and got certified as a child counselor. I was interested in psychology since the day I got into marketing but thanks to my teenage diaries, that made me curious to study child and teenage psychology.

I wanted my mom to get back into her good old days and restart her hobbies- hence we started working on her online store where she sells handmade goodies all over India. You can visit her online store and get some pretty gifts for your loved ones too!

As of Oct.2021: I’m currently focused on growing my online coaching business and work on brand collaboration for my mum’s business.

Honestly, I’m really thankful to my online friends and readers like you who constantly support me more than my relatives and friends in real life.

Hopefully this page will be updated with more recent updates, till then — take care Sunshine.

Yours Truly
